About the Dinner

The Global Nexus club brings together finance and operations leaders to discuss and share experiences on the opportunities and challenges of global expansion.

On September 13th, we are meeting at a private San Francisco venue at 6:30 PM for drinks and networking before sitting down for an evening of lively debate. This is where we are hosting our peer-to-peer discussion over a Michelin five star, three course dinner.


The Discussion

A decade ago, the prospect of expanding into China, Europe or South America without doubling head count and IT spend would’ve been an impossibility. Today, that’s exactly what some of San Francisco’s most agile, fast-growth businesses have done.

Thanks to advancements in key financial and operational technologies, International expansion has never been more accessible.  However, this “easy access” doesn’t guarantee smooth sailing. Indeed, 47% of companies stated in a recent report by Aberdeen Group, their current finance function wasn’t prepared for international expansion.

The challenge of managing an increasing number of cross-border partners and suppliers, compounded by the complexity of changing tax, fraud prevention and regulatory requirements across the world, make it harder to run a seamless, scalable, compliant payments operation.
